Endodontics is the field of Dentistry dedicated to the treatment of pathologies of the dental pulp. Its objective is to preserve the tooth or, at the very least, its root, avoiding immediate extraction and creating conditions for prosthetic rehabilitation.
The most common reasons for undergoing endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) are extensive cavities and dental traumas. These can cause pain, infection, purulent drainage fistula, facial or surrounding tissue swelling, tooth mobility, dental darkening, and loss of dental support tissues. They can also contribute to or trigger other diseases, with the most common being type I and type II diabetes, and heart diseases.
In addition to the specialized training of the professional, as we have at CMDP, the success of endodontic treatment depends on various factors, with one of the most crucial being the cleaning of the root canal through instrumentation. With the introduction of mechanized endodontics, a technique used at CMDP, the process has become safer, faster, and more effective, reducing the appointment time and inherent stress, and providing greater success in the short and long term.
